Ramps and Rails Project

CHIPS would like to identify individuals in the community with head and spinal cord injuries that need wheelchair ramps or minor home modifications and assist them! It is our goal to build at least four wheelchair ramps per year with the assistance of volunteers in the community. If you are a Contractor and would like to volunteer services, please contact us

PROGRAMS

"Play Hard and Play Smart" Campaign

This program encourages kids to take the pledge to "Play Hard and Play Smart" by signing a pledge card (promissory note) stating they will be careful while participating in sports and other daily activities. An individual with a head or spinal cord injury will share their personal testimony in an effort to educate kids about head and spinal cord injuries and possible preventions!

Support Groups

CHIPS pairs up with the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association's "Breeze" Program which meets at Roger C. Pearse Rehabilitation Hospital every second Tuesday of each month. If you have a head or spinal cord injury and would like to participate, please contact us.

Information & Referrals

CHIPS has information about other organizations that provide services to individuals with head and spinal cord injuries. If you need help accessing services, please contact us! If we cannot assist you, we will point you in the right direction!

Pal Up Program

CHIPS would like to pair our youth with individuals with head and spinal cord injuries living in our community in an effort to promote awareness and education about these different type of disabilities and their causes (Falls, Automobile Accident, Violence, and Sports Related Injuries). The goal of this program is to increase social interaction

Religious Outreach

CHIPS recognizes the fact that many individuals with disabilities have trouble with accessible transportation to be transported to and from Church. CHIPS would like to provide those individuals with paratransit tickets to attend Church Services. CHIPS will also provide information about live online streaming services that can be watched each Sunday via Internet.
